About 1920 Agency
1920 Agency is a free kids ebook library for families, teachers and anyone who loves sharing stories with children. We have free, brightly illustrated picture books for kids ages 2-10, plus a blog full of easy reading tips, book lists and cozy ideas for story time. All books are free PDFs and you don’t have to sign up to read them.
Why We Created 1920 Agency
Good stories should be easy to find and should cost nothing. We started 1920 Agency because we believe that a few quiet minutes with a picture book can be the best part of a child’s day and that every family deserves easy access to stories worth sharing.
Whether you’re looking for a gentle bedtime story, a funny read-aloud, a book about big feelings or a first colors book for your toddler, our free kids ebooks are here to help you find it.
For trusted, expert guidance on reading with young children, we also recommend Reading Rockets and HealthyChildren.org from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

How Our Books Are Made
Every story in our library is written to be read aloud. We keep the language simple, the pages short and the endings warm, with soft, hand-drawn-style illustrations that little ones love to point at and talk about. Our stories are about everyday moments and gentle lessons, like trying a new food, feeling nervous on the first day of school or saying goodnight to a forest of friends.

At 1920 Agency, our promise to every family is simple:
- Free, always. Our books are free to read and download, with no hidden charges.
- No sign-up. You don’t need to create an account or share personal details to read a story.
- Kid-friendly. We choose gentle, age-appropriate stories and clearly show the age range for each one.
- Honest and helpful. We share tips and recommendations we believe in, and we tell you plainly what our books are and who they are for.
